Located in Orlando, Florida on the campus of Florida Hospital, the facility offer Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's and general certifications in: Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Nurse Anesthesia, Nursing, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Pre-Professional Studies and Radiography. They also offer classes that can be transfered to other accredited schools. Faith plays heavily in the teaching, with their stated goal being to have the "Faculty, Staff and students work together to be a part of the healing ministry of Christ." They are owned and operated by the Seventh Day Adventist Church. FHCHS is the largest of the 350 health care facilities located worldwide

If you want to attend FHCHS, the requirements are pretty straightforward. A minimum of a 2.5 GPA from a regionally accredited high school or official passing scores on the GED will likely get you in the door, although students with 12 or more college hours are exempt from the GPA requirement. Students with less than 60 college hours are required to submit college transcripts. If you decide upon a specific program at the college, the requirements for being admitted to each major are different. For example, if you want to be enrolled in the Nursing program, you must have a 2.5 GPA and be willing to sit through the NCLEX-RN, or the nursing equivalent of the GRE.

Tuition for the college is fairly high, about $275 a credit hour. Depending on the program that you decide to go into, the cost of attendance at FHCHS can be as high as $37,000 a year if you are working towards a Master's degree in Nursing. The school is fairly expensive even though they are on a semester-based schedule, and if you live in an apartment, the college charges per trimester as opposed to semester.

Housing is another factor to consider. The College offers housing to its students living more than 30 miles from the main campus. There are two apartment complexes available for students enrolled in on-campus programs, with two students assigned to the one bedroom apartments and four students are assigned to the two bedroom apartments. Needless to say, the quarters tend to be a bit cramped, although each apartment comes furnished, with basic amenities such as a refrigerator and stove, a couch and beds that bunk and un-bunk. Electronic appliances are not included.

The college is reasonably close to the city, so if you wanted to find an apartment odds are good you can hunt down a community with cheaper rates and less restrictive requirements. Those looking for privacy while maintaining access to the local culture and events may want to go this route while attending the college, ensuring plenty of quiet time for all of that studying.
